I work alongside owners who need something to move — whether you're getting started, grinding through the build, or getting ready to sell. Thirty years in healthcare, a franchise built and sold, and companies I still run today. I've made the decision you're facing.
Up to an hour, no charge, no obligation. We'll know quickly if I can help.
Most consultants have studied one of these. I've lived the whole arc — started companies, grown them through the messy middle, and sold two of them successfully.
You have the idea and the nerve. What you need is a plan that survives contact with reality — structure, priorities, and a clear-eyed view of what the first eighteen months actually demand.
Revenue is real and so are the problems. Process breaks, people need developing, margin leaks in places nobody is watching. This is where most of my work happens.
You want out, or you want the option. That means a business that runs without you, books that tell a clean story, and a team a buyer will pay for. It takes longer than owners expect.
Not a service menu. These are the areas the work tends to touch, in whatever combination your goals require.
Find where time, margin, and effort leak out — then close the gaps with process people will actually follow.
A forward-looking plan with real priorities and a sequence, so growth is a decision instead of an accident.
Build the bench. Develop leaders who hold up under pressure and a team that doesn't need you in every room.
Rebuild what's breaking, measure what matters, and turn operational discipline into money that stays.
No packages, no long-term contracts, no retainer that quietly renews forever.
Up to an hour on Zoom, no charge. You tell me where you are and what's in the way.
On the call or through a short form — specific, written down, and agreed before any money changes hands.
Scope, shape, and cost. A monthly retainer against set hours, or a defined project with a start, an end, and deliverables.
In the trenches with you until the goals are met. Then the engagement ends, and I'm on call if you need me.
Co-founded Fit For Work in 1998 — on-site injury prevention built to stop workers from becoming patients — and grew it to 450+ industrial client locations nationally. In 2013, an original founder of Confluent Health, formed with the partners behind Texas Physical Therapy Specialists and Evidence In Motion. Today it runs 2,000+ employees across three divisions. Exited in 2019.
Opened a Grease Monkey franchise in the middle of a pandemic. Past $3 million in total sales, $1.2 million in the final year, a five-star Google rating, Carfax Top-Rated, and a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite. Named Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association in 2024 — then sold in just over four years at 4x EBITDA.
Ten years as a clinician, twenty in private practice. A professor's charge has run underneath all of it: don't accept the status quo — be a Change Agent.
Still building today across Legacy & Light Emporium (e-commerce), Anchor AI Studio, and Tobin Realty Group — which means the advice comes from someone currently making the same calls you are.
You'll be working with me. Not an associate, not a team you meet once during the pitch and never see again. I've started companies, run them through the messy middle, and sold two of them — and I've made most of the mistakes I'd help you avoid. The person you talk to is the person who does the work.
Described by industry and outcome rather than name — most owners would rather their strategy work stayed between us. You'll notice the same ending on all three: the goals were met and the engagement closed. That's by design. A consultant who becomes permanent has stopped solving the problem.
Monthly retainer against a set number of hours and three defined goals: expand the team's customer-service skills, grow light mechanical ancillary services, and create and expand fleet services. All three met inside a year — so the retainer ended, by design. Now on call as needed.
Preventing slips, trips and falls and maximizing independence for seniors. The brief started at "just organize everything" and ended somewhere bigger: systems built out, recruiting, training and scheduling established, growth into new markets — and a plan so that at retirement the owner wouldn't have a company of one, he'd have a company he could value and sell. Goals met, and the work transitioned to a long-term operations solution.
Residential and commercial work, new build through repair. Four goals — and the first one tells you what the others were for: two uninterrupted weeks on vacation with his family. Then grow the service side, add two full service teams through recruiting, and build the recruiting, application, and onboarding systems and employee manual to support them. All four met, then handed off to a longer-term solution.
Whether you're stuck in a rut, building toward something, or getting ready to sell — start with a conversation. Up to an hour, no charge, and you'll leave it knowing whether I can help.
